Celebrant Fees

Marriage or Civil Union Ceremony

I always have an initial face-to-face meeting with the couple. This allows time to  get-to-know each other. After this initial meeting, the couple can decide if I am who they are looking for to be their celebrant. 

If the couple choose to go ahead, I will work with them to do the following…

• Be available for meetings as needed (usually two or three), for the couple to feel comfortable and relaxed.

• Create a ‘to-do’ list that we regularly update.

• Create, with discussion and feedback, a personalised ceremony that meets the couple’s wishes.

• Provide a selection of resources/ideas for marriage readings, music and rituals, as required.

• Provide help with writing of the couple's personalised vows, if needed.

• Take part in one on-site rehearsal.

• On the wedding day, perform the role of Celebrant for the couple’s ceremony.

• Ensure all legal documents are correctly completed and returned.

• Be available for unlimited support for the couple during their Kata Kairon (significant or appointed time.)

Fee: $675.00 (with a $275 retainer)

This price includes vehicle costs and travel time to anywhere around Canterbury. 

Small and Personal Marriage or Civil Union Ceremony

Suitable for at-home, or down at the local park/beach/cafe type locations.

• Option for personal vows and/or a reading and/or prayer.

• Maximum of 30 people in total (including the couple)

• Organised via phone, text, messenger or email (we do not meet beforehand or conduct a rehearsal)

• Ensure all legal documents are correctly completed and returned.

Fee: $325 (paid in full)

This price includes vehicle costs and travel time to anywhere around Canterbury.

Funeral/End of Life Ceremony

I always have an initial face-to-face meeting with the family. We create a plan to suit the family’s needs for the end-of-life ceremony of their loved one.

I will ask questions about the loves, likes, hates, achievements, values and beliefs of the person during their life. 

The funeral ceremony can include:

• Songs, music, poetry, readings and prayers as appropriate.

• Tributes and rituals, all of which will honour the person who has passed away.

• Committal, either in the funeral venue or at the graveside. 

Fee: Generally around $400.00 (with a $200 retainer)

Additional fees may apply for the following:

• Sound System - Speaker, Lav mic, 2 wireless hand held mics, 10 channel mixer and Spotify premium. (All battery powered for remote or without AC powered locations.)

• Air-flights, if required.

• Overnight accommodation, if required.

• Master of Ceremonies for Marriage or Civil Breakfast/Reception

All other Ceremonies range between $325.00 and 600.00. Please inquire.
